Asheville Art Atlas
Nooo..body reads this blog so I'm posting it here first. It's been a long time since I wanted to make blog posts or do anything remotely blogish. But times are changing. I'm not going to be posting here much as usual, but I have been working on a system that should let all local artists promote their business to an ever widening range of art lovers and seekers. One big interactive book of Asheville Art, Artists, Galleries, Events, Studios and exhibits. Any art that anyone wants to promote can happen on the Asheville Art Atlas Website. I need some beta testers that will help to test and fill out the interactive components of the website and I need some strong art business to help with the heavy lifting, the printing of this new project of Muddy Knees Design and Production.

Almost Full
As booth spaces fill up I am reminded of the need to create more opportunities in this town for local artists to make a living. As I look for spaces for artists to vend, I am reminded of all the great resources that our community already has. The important thing is to get involved. Join your local arts council, volunteer for a local non profit, help to mentor someone in your field that is just starting out. If you the one just starting out, seek out some help, get educated on what type of business you want to run and how to run it. There are a variety of classes and workshops held all the time in many different locations around town. Share something about your art everyday with the world.

Show Half Full
As we move into the end of February the June shows are about half full and the October shows are about 1/3 full. If you are thinking about becoming a new member, there is still time to apply for this years shows. I will have signup information and applications at the Creative Sector Summit in the end of March if there are still spaces left at that time.
If you are already a member you can still signup by sending in your booth fees putting the dates you want to vend in the memo section of your check or Paypal. Booth fees are $85 per Saturday this year and payment is required for your reservation.
